A Modern Alchemy: Patchouli Noisette Les Indemodables
Patchouli Noisette from Les Indémodables came from a desire to reinvent the classic patchouli scent in a modern way. The perfumer, Antoine Lie, along with the brand founders, Valérie and Rémi Pulvérail, wanted to create a fragrance that was different from traditional chypre and gourmand scents. They wanted to show patchouli in a new way, so that people who might normally not like its strong character could still enjoy it. The key to this innovation was a new ingredient - an ultrasonic extract from Piedmont hazelnuts. This hazelnut was developed in-house using 100% green technology, and it was used for the first time in perfume. It added a soft, praline note that balanced the dark, earthy patchouli notes, creating a complex and rich scent.
Olfactory Notes
Patchouli Noisette by Les Indémodables unfolds on my skin as a captivating olfactory journey. In the initial moments, a rich, earthy patchouli presence dominates, offering a grounding and sophisticated aroma. This is complemented by a subtle sweetness, reminiscent of roasted hazelnuts, introducing a gourmand nuance without overwhelming the senses. As the fragrance evolves, the interplay between the robust patchouli and the delicate hazelnut creates a harmonious balance, adding depth and complexity to the scent. In the final stages, the composition settles into a smooth, woody base, leaving a lasting impression of refined elegance.
