Blndrgrphy at Esxence: When Cocktails Meet Niche Perfumery

Blndrgrphy at Esxence: When Cocktails Meet Niche Perfumery

Daniil Savishin

Blndrgrphy is actually the second brand from the creator of Huno, and while Huno leans in its own artistic direction, Blndrgrphy is all about one thing: cocktails. Boozy, indulgent, lifestyle-driven cocktails—translated into fragrance form. I had already encountered one scent from the brand before, Vanilla Mudslide, and loved it, so getting a full introduction to the entire collection at Esxence felt like a real treat.

Blndrgrphy: The Concept

Blndrgrphy: The Concept

The idea behind Blndrgrphy is refreshingly straightforward yet surprisingly original. The brand’s creator shared that cocktails are his favorite drinks, and he wanted to capture that experience in a way that felt personal, indulgent, and fun. Rather than creating literal “alcohol-smelling” perfumes, the goal is to translate the mood, texture, and vibe of a cocktail into scent.

This concept extends beyond the juice itself and into the presentation. The bottles come housed in wooden boxes designed to resemble cocktail shakers, which immediately sets the tone. It feels lifestyle-oriented, modern, and playful—without drifting into gimmicky territory.

What really elevates the project is the creative approach. Instead of using one perfumer for the entire line, each fragrance was developed by a different perfumer from the Flair team. The perfumers were briefed together and then allowed to choose which cocktail they wanted to interpret. This results in a collection that feels cohesive in concept, yet diverse in execution.

The Fragrance Lineup

At launch, Blndrgrphy consists of five fragrances, each inspired by a well-known cocktail. While they all share a boozy, indulgent undertone, they each go in very different directions.

Jasmine Martini

Jasmine Martini

Jasmine Martini is elegant, clean, and slightly sensual. Rather than leaning overly floral, this fragrance balances jasmine with a crisp, almost chilled feeling—much like a perfectly made martini glass straight from the freezer. The jasmine feels refined rather than indolic, and the overall composition is smooth, modern, and sophisticated. It’s the kind of scent that works equally well dressed up or worn casually.

Patchouli Mojito

Patchouli Mojito plays with contrast in a really fun way. You get the freshness and brightness you’d expect from a mojito, paired with an earthy patchouli backbone. The result is vibrant yet grounded, fresh but not fleeting. It feels energizing and confident, and it’s a great example of how Blndrgrphy avoids being literal while still clearly referencing the cocktail inspiration.

Vanilla Mudslide

This was already a standout for me before Esxence, and it remained a personal favorite after revisiting the collection. Vanilla Mudslide is rich, creamy, and indulgent—just like the cocktail itself. The vanilla is deep and smooth rather than sugary, with a soft boozy warmth that makes it incredibly wearable. It feels cozy, luxurious, and addictive without becoming heavy. If you enjoy gourmand fragrances with a grown-up twist, this one is absolutely worth trying.

Amber Negroni

Amber Negroni leans darker and more intense. Just like a real Negroni, it has a bitter-sweet elegance to it. The amber gives warmth and depth, while the overall structure feels bold and confident. This one feels especially suited to evening wear, with a strong presence and excellent longevity. It’s not loud, but it definitely makes a statement.

Santal Painkiller

Santal Painkiller is creamy, smooth, and slightly tropical without being overly sweet. The sandalwood is soft and milky, paired with an easygoing warmth that mirrors the relaxed vibe of the cocktail. This fragrance feels laid-back yet refined—perfect for those who enjoy woody scents with a subtle gourmand or exotic edge.

Performance & Style

One important thing to note is that all Blndrgrphy fragrances are extraits de parfum, which means concentration is high across the board. Performance is solid, with good longevity and a noticeable but controlled projection. These are not overpowering scents, but they do linger nicely and feel well-constructed.

Despite the cocktail theme, the fragrances don’t smell like novelty scents. They are proper niche compositions with quality materials and thoughtful blending. The boozy inspiration is more about atmosphere than literal notes.

What’s Next for Blndrgrphy?

Blndrgrphy

The brand isn’t stopping here. The creator shared that two new fragrances are already in development, with a planned release around  2026. Expansion is clearly a priority, both in terms of scent offerings and availability.

Currently, Blndrgrphy can be found at ZGO Perfumery in San Francisco, along with select retailers in London, Hamburg, Dubai, and several cities across Europe. The brand is actively seeking additional retail partners, so it’s likely we’ll see Blndrgrphy popping up in more niche perfume stores soon.

Final Thoughts

Blndrgrphy is a great example of how a clear concept, when executed thoughtfully, can feel both fun and sophisticated. The cocktail inspiration adds personality and storytelling, while the use of different perfumers keeps the collection diverse and interesting.

If you’re someone who enjoys niche fragrances with a lifestyle edge—or if you’re simply bored of playing it safe—Blndrgrphy is well worth exploring. Vanilla Mudslide remains my personal favorite, but the entire lineup offers something unique, and I’m genuinely excited to see where the brand goes next.

This is definitely one to keep on your radar
