Ranking Mancera’s Best: My Top 21 Fragrances

Daniil Savishin

It’s been over two years since I last ranked Mancera fragrances, and honestly, a lot has changed. My taste has evolved, new flankers have launched, and some scents have grown on me while others… well, not so much.

Mancera, the sister house to Montale, is known for bold, long-lasting, high-projection fragrances. They don’t do subtle. They don’t do shy. When you wear Mancera, people know.

Today, I’m ranking my Top 21 Mancera fragrances, starting from my least favorite and working up to my number one. And at the end, I’ll share some thoughts on the buzz around the upcoming Red Tobacco Intense.

Let’s jump in.

The Bottom Tier – Not for Me

Mancera

21. Wild Cherry
I’ll be honest — this one just doesn’t work for me. The bottle looks amazing, but the scent smells like cherry cough syrup. It has black cherry, vanilla, white musk, and patchouli, but that medicinal cherry note dominates. If you love sweet cherry fragrances, maybe sample it. For me, it’s a pass.

20. Black Gold
Not terrible — just boring. It leans very designer-like with lavender, leather, spices, and woods. It smells pleasant but doesn’t give me that unique Mancera punch I look for.

19. Lovely Garden
Very feminine, very white-floral, very sweet. There’s rose, citrus blossom, and a slightly bubblegum-like vibe. Beast mode performance, but not something I personally reach for.

18. Wild Leather
A solid leather fragrance with oakmoss, amber, and a hint of rose. It’s earthy and slightly animalic. Not bad at all — just overshadowed by stronger offerings in the lineup.

17. Aoud Violet
If you love violet, this is your fragrance. Powdery violet meets amber, patchouli, and subtle oud. The oud plays backup here — it’s really about the violet-amber combo.

The Middle Tier – Solid and Worth Exploring

16. Soleil d’Italie
A fresh, aquatic citrus fragrance that actually smells like the Mediterranean. Bright citruses, white musk, vetiver, and a watery breeze. Perfect for summer lovers who want something clean but strong.

15. Cedrat Boise Intense
In my opinion, better than the original. Citrus-heavy opening, followed by leather and woods. It still has that Aventus-inspired DNA but feels thicker, deeper, and more ambery.

14. Roses Greedy
A sugary rose bomb. It’s sweet, vanillic, and very floral. Leans feminine but smells luxurious and addictive.

13. Amber Fever
Amber, caramel, whiskey, and tonka. It has that slightly Baccarat Rouge-style sweetness thanks to amber and ambroxan vibes. Delicious, but not my top pick.

12. Melody of the Sun
A citrus-tea fragrance done beautifully. Green tea, mate, lemon, grapefruit — it’s cozy yet fresh. Very wearable and underrated.

11. Aoud Exclusif
Spicy, warm oud with rose, leather, and vanilla. It has a holiday-season vibe. If you’re an oud fan, this one is worth sampling.

Climbing Higher – Where Things Get Interesting

10. Vetiver Sensuel
A citrus-forward vetiver that’s easy to wear. Juicy lemon and bergamot up top, with grassy vetiver underneath. Fresh but still powerful.

9. Crazy for Oud
A gourmand twist on oud. Yes — gourmand oud. It even has tiramisu listed in the notes. Creamy vanilla, rose, leather, and Laotian oud blend into something sweet yet slightly animalic.

8. Instant Crush
One of Mancera’s biggest hits. Think saffron, amber, vanilla, and ambroxan. It definitely rides the Baccarat Rouge wave, but it’s louder, thicker, and more Mancera-style bold.

7. Velvet Vanilla
Sweet, candied vanilla with white florals like tuberose and orange blossom. It slightly reminds people of Love Don’t Be Shy, but it’s more floral and less marshmallow.

The Top Tier – Mancera at Its Best

6. Holidays
Vacation in a bottle. Coconut, tropical flowers, vanilla, and beachy vibes. Smells like sunscreen in the best possible way. If you want summer in fragrance form, this is it.

5. Fig Extasy
One of the best fig fragrances from the house. Milky fig, fig leaf, woods, and incense. It smells like the whole fig tree — green, creamy, and slightly woody.

4. Tonka Cola
This one is fun. Cherry, tonka bean, fizzy cola vibes, and light tobacco nuances. It’s gourmand but also spicy and slightly resinous. Unique and addictive.

3. Roses Vanille
A creamy, sweet rose and vanilla combination. Think Turkish delight with a warm amber base. It’s Mancera’s smoother answer to Intense Cafe.

2. Red Tobacco
Love it or hate it — this fragrance is legendary. It’s loud, sticky, spicy, fruity, and extremely powerful. Tobacco, cinnamon, vanilla, saffron, incense, and even green apple. It’s overwhelming for some, but in cold weather, it performs like nothing else.

This is not a fragrance you overspray.

My Number 1: Hindu Kush

Mancera

After all these years, Hindu Kush remains my top Mancera fragrance.

Why?

Balance.

It’s potent but wearable. Intense but smooth. It has a green cannabis note (though not literal marijuana), blended with incense, amber, patchouli, guaiac wood, and creamy vanilla.

There’s something addictive about it. It leaves a sexy trail without being suffocating. And surprisingly, you can even wear it in warmer weather if you go light on the trigger.

It’s mysterious, woody, slightly sweet, and incredibly well blended.

For me, this is Mancera at its best.

Bonus: Red Tobacco Intense – What to Expect?

Now let’s talk about the buzz.

Mancera is launching Red Tobacco Intense, and people are already wondering: how can you make Red Tobacco even stronger?

The new version removes the green apple and focuses more on cinnamon, saffron, incense, woods, tobacco leaf, vetiver, vanilla, and sandalwood.

My guess?

It will likely be smoother and darker, with less fruity brightness and more focus on spice and tobacco depth. If the original was already beast mode, this could become nuclear.

I’m especially curious whether it will improve the opening, which some people found harsh in the original.

If they’ve refined it while maintaining performance, this could be a huge hit.

Final Thoughts

Mancera

Mancera is a house that delivers power. Whether you love gourmands, oud bombs, tropical fragrances, or spicy tobacco scents, there’s something here for you.

If I had to recommend a few starting points:

  • Fresh & Easy: Soleil d’Italie or Vetiver Sensuel

  • Sweet & Gourmand: Tonka Cola or Roses Vanille

  • Bold & Loud: Red Tobacco

  • Balanced & Addictive: Hindu Kush

And now, all eyes are on Red Tobacco Intense.
