Description

Falcon Leather Matière Première: dark smoky leather with birch tar, resinous woods

When creating Falcon Leather, perfumer Aurélien Guichard imagined the scent of a falconer’s leather glove warmed by the sun. The fragrance explores both facets of leather — the sleek, polished grain and the supple suede underside — through the smoky intensity of Finnish Birch Tar. Matière Première describes it as a powerful and textured composition where leathery, resinous, and woody nuances merge into a bold yet refined olfactory experience. The scent feels dense, elegant, and tactile, balancing raw smokiness with warm ambered softness.

Olfactory Notes

The fragrance opens with a striking combination of Saffron and Andalusian Ciste Labdanum, immediately creating a warm, spicy, and resinous atmosphere. As the scent develops, Birch Tar from Finland dominates the heart, bringing an intensely smoky, vegetal leather accord that evokes tanned leather and dark woods. In the dry down, Benzoin from Laos softens the composition with a smooth balsamic sweetness, while Oud adds depth and richness, extending the leathery character into a darker woody trail.
