When developing Lucius, perfumer Jordi Fernandez approached the idea of power through contrast. Fragrance Du Bois presents it as the house's first male focused fragrance, created around the image of a modern champion whose confidence comes from presence rather than excess. Fernandez describes the composition through fresh citrus igniting strength within cedar and amber. The result brings brightness and structure together, moving from an energetic citrus opening into increasingly warm, woody territory while maintaining a clean, controlled character.

 

Olfactory Notes

Upon the first spray, Bergamot and Mandarin create a crisp citrus brightness, sharpened by the warm spice of Pink Pepper. The opening feels energetic and direct before giving way to a more structured heart. Cedarwood adds dry, elegant depth, while Orange Flower introduces a softer floral contrast that keeps the woods from becoming overly austere. Finally, Lucius settles into Tonka Bean, earthy Vetiver and Dry Amber. The tonka brings a subtle smoothness to the base, while vetiver and amber provide the dry, warm and persistent woody character that defines the fragrance's final impression.
