When developing Falcon Leather Extrait, Aurélien Guichard sought to magnify the raw, textural identity of the original Falcon Leather Eau de Parfum. The inspiration came from the tactile contrast of a falconer’s glove — both sleek and suede-like — translated into an intensely smoky and luxurious leather composition. Built around an overdose of Birch Tar from Finland, the fragrance explores the darker, deeper facets of vegetal leather, while the addition of precious Oud Assafi Oil from Bangladesh introduces warmth, depth, and an almost velvety richness. Matiere Premiere describes the Extrait as a more concentrated and amplified interpretation of Falcon Leather, designed to leave an immediate and lasting trail.

 

Olfactory Notes

Upon the first spray, Saffron gives the fragrance a warm, spicy opening. As it develops, Birch Tar Finland becomes the central force, creating the smoky, vegetal leather texture that defines Falcon Leather Extrait. The composition then deepens into resinous warmth, with Labdanum and Benzoin adding density and softness, while Oud Assafi Oil Bangladesh enriches the extrait with a dark, smooth, leathery depth. The result is an intense, textured leather fragrance with smoky, resinous, woody, and warm facets.
