When developing Radical Rose Extrait, Aurélien Guichard sought to push the boundaries of rose perfumery by creating one of the most concentrated interpretations of Rose Centifolia Absolute ever composed. The fragrance was envisioned as a darker, richer, and more mineral extension of the original Radical Rose Eau de Parfum. Matiere Premiere describes it as a genderless rose with powerful floral, woody, spicy, and resinous dimensions, built around organically grown Rose Centifolia harvested from Guichard’s own fields in Grasse, France. The addition of Croatian Immortelle Absolute was specifically chosen to amplify the deeper, more robust facets of the rose, giving the composition an almost mineral warmth and an intensely textured character. The result is a fragrance that feels opulent, saturated, and uncompromisingly bold while remaining elegant and refined.

 

Olfactory Notes

Upon the first spray, an immediate burst of Saffron and spicy Pepper notes cuts through the composition with vivid warmth and brightness. The opening feels radiant yet dry, allowing the richness of the rose to emerge gradually rather than explosively. As the fragrance develops, Rose Centifolia Absolute becomes the unmistakable centerpiece — lush, jammy, velvety, and intensely natural. Croatian Immortelle Absolute introduces a distinctive mineral and slightly salty nuance that deepens the floral heart and gives the scent a darker, more textured profile. In the drydown, Indonesian Patchouli and Spanish Labdanum create a resinous, woody foundation that wraps the rose in earthy warmth, leaving behind a luxurious trail that feels simultaneously sensual, smoky, and sophisticated.
